Outpatient Program

The Outpatient Program located on Market Street in Paterson, New Jersey provides support services for both men and women from ages 18 years and older. As with Residential, the Outpatient facility includes individual/group counseling, didactic sessions, and family education and information sessions into the care program. The Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment at Damon House offers two levels of care based on the ASAM criteria, a Level I (Outpatient) and Level II.I (Intensive Outpatient). For both levels of care, the program provides flexible hours so that the treatment plan of each client is conducive to their schedule.
Level I

The Level I outpatient care provides regularly scheduled individual, group, and/or licensed family counseling for less than 9 hours per week. The clients in this level may have been discharged from a more intensive level of care, but this is not a prerequisite. Just as with all the other levels of care, Level I incorporates both individual and group counseling as well as didactic sessions and Family Education and information sessions.
Level II.I: Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Program

The Outpatient Program in the Paterson location is licensed as a Level II.I Care program. This is known as the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) substance abuse treatment program. Licensed IOP facilities provide broad range of clinically intensive interventions capable of meeting the needs of individuals with co-occurring disorders such as anxiety and depression. The Damon House IOP program was designed as a 26week rotation for the Drug Court referrals. It includes 9 hours per week of counseling services, including individual and group therapy. Each week, clients are required to attend 1 hour minimum of individual counseling. In addition, there is a 8 hours/week of group therapy. And, when clinically indicated, family of the client may be requested to attend counseling meetings. It is comprehensive in its scope and can offer those individuals who are willing to dedicate themselves to their recovery, a successful treatment program.
